About Us
Acoustic Resources was founded in 2003 by an Educational Audiologist interested in helping to create a better listening environment for classrooms. Frequent classroom visits found teachers often complaining of the disturbing noise created by chairs scraping the floor surface. Excessive noise in the classroom deters children from their best listening. Such noise is not only problematic for the regular listener but detrimental for students with special needs to include but not limited to hearing loss, central auditory processing disorder, and ADD/ADHD. The solution was found with the creation of Quiet Feet™. Quiet Feet™ are specially manufactured to fit the typical classroom chair "foot." Special adhesive makes Quiet Feet™ both durable and effective. Quiet Feet™ are an affordable and convenient alternative to carpeting the classroom. Quiet Feet™ are individual chair and even desk feet noise attenuators. Quiet Feet™ are special felt cut to fit the common desk chair leg glider. Special adhesive makes Quiet Feet™ adhere to the chair feet for a lengthy period of time making them both durable and long lasting. In a classroom pilot study, Quiet Feet™ were long lasting, cosmetically appealing and reduced classroom noise. Their affordability makes them an essential fit for every chair and/or desk.
